Daralyn S. (Riley) Benge, age 87, of Gibbon, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. today, Thursday, August 27, at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon.
Family prefers the service to be casual and anyone attending to wear sports attire or gardening clothes. All are invited to attend a reception at Walker’s Hall in Gibbon following the graveside service.

Daralyn S. (Riley) Benge was born December 24, 1938, to Evan and Madelyn (Mercer) Riley. She was raised in Gibbon, graduated from Gibbon High School in 1956 and lived in Gibbon her whole life. She was a Kearney State College 12-hour wonder, teaching school for one year at Buckeye Valley, until getting married. Daralyn was united in marriage to David M.
Benge on May 31, 1957. To this union, four children were born.
She and David farmed most of their life until his passing in 1985.
Daralyn went back to college at Central Community College of Hastings receiving her associate’s degree in social work.
Daralyn took care of many people over the years in Home Health Care. She loved helping others. Her passion for her family was great. Being an only child, her family consisted of 65 strong. She loved watching her grandchildren and all the other kids in sports, rarely missing a game. Gardening was her other love, helping her son David and his wife in their Little Town Gardens. Daralyn never said, “No” to anyone who needed her help and always had free advice to give. Daralyn was greatly honored to be Grand Marshal of the Gibbon Parade in 2024.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Vicki (Dennis) Farrell, Renae (Bill) Yockey, JaNelle Clifton (partner, Ed Schuster), and David (Candi) Benge; 14 grandchildren and spouses; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Daralyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David M. Benge; and two greatgrandchildren.
