Terry V. Hopkins

Terry V. Hopkins, age 71, of Campbell, formerly of Shelton, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at his home in Campbell. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, March 6, at the Shelton United Methodist Church with Pastor Michelle Byerly officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the service at the church.

Terry was born June 28, 1953, in Gothenburg to John and LaVauna (Bice) Hopkins. He was raised in Kearney and attended Kearney High School. On June 30, 1972, Terry was united in marriage to Lewise Williams in Gibbon. The couple made their home south of Shelton were they raised their three children. Terry worked at Gibbon Pack and later Chief Industries in Kearney for over 20 years, retiring in 2012. For the past 10 years, Terry and Lewise have lived in Campbell.

Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and trap shooting. He was active as a Boy Scout leader and involved in 4-H when his children were younger. Terry also enjoyed attending morning coffee group in Campbell. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Husker football.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lewise Hopkins, of Campbell; children, Chris (Rhonda) Hopkins, of Heartwell, Sherry (Lee) Reichstein, of Heartwell, and Melissa Wiehn, of Shelton; grandchildren, Caleb (Larissa) Wiedeman, of Shelton, Austin (Nicole) Olson, of Kearney, Taylor Hopkins, of Kearney, Bekah (Jeff) Eckhout, of Pleasanton, Zachary Reichstein, of Lincoln, Haley Reichstein and Ellie Reichstein, both of Heartwell, and Kyle Wiehn, Justin Wiehn and Emily Wiehn, all of Shelton; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeff Hopkins, of Cambridge, and Shannon Hopkins, of Holdrege; sisters-in-law, Pat Struss, of Grand Island, and Joy (Jack) Hughes, of Sacramento, California; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-inlaw, Ralph Struss and Neil Williams; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clinton and Arlene Williams.
