Linda Lea Greene

Linda Lea Greene, age 75, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away, Friday, December 20, 2024, in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services for Linda were held Friday, December 27, at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle, Iowa. Interment followed services in the Carlisle City Cemetery.

Linda was born on May 4, 1949, in York, to Ivan and Hildegard (Benke) Pohl. Linda grew up in Shelton, graduating from Shelton High School in 1967. There after she attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney for two years. After which she entered the workforce as a secretary at the Gibbon turkey plant until 1972. She then focused on being a housewife and mother to her four children. Linda moved to Des Moines, Iowa, in 1989 and shortly after started her career at Hy-Vee. Growing up in Nebraska, Linda was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan, and loved all things Elvis Presley. Linda worked for Hy-Vee for 29 years and retired from the Park Avenue location as a delicatessen manager.

Linda is survived by her husband, Ed Greene, of Des Moines, Iowa; children, Sean Dority (Stacy Dority), of Polk City, Iowa, Ryan Dority (Bethany Stafford), of Des Moines, Iowa, Eric Dority, of Des Moines, Iowa, Sarah Gearhart, of Ankeny, Iowa, and Angela Foreman, of Altoona, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Karen (Tim) Schroeder, of Alda, Ron Pohl, of Shelton, and Kristi Eichelberger, of Kearney, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Hildegard Pohl.
