Ron R. Catlin
Ron R. Catlin, age 89, of Kearney, formerly of Gibbon, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024, at WelCov Assisted Living in Kearney.
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024, at Faith United Church in Gibbon. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon with Military honors provided by the Gibbon American Legion in conjunction with the Nebraska National Guard Funeral Honors Team.

Ron was born December 9, 1934, in Gibbon to Harley and Laura (DeBrie) Catlin. He was raised in Gibbon and graduated from Gibbon High School in 1952. Ron was united in marriage to Rojane Rasmussen on August 19, 1956. To this union three children were blessed.
Ron proudly served in the United States Army from September of 1957 until his honorable discharge in September of 1959. Ron worked numerous jobs in Gibbon before going to work for the City of Gibbon as the city administrator from 1979 until his retirement.
Ron enjoyed his family and especially his grandchildren and anybody he could talk to.
He was a longtime member of the Gibbon Faith United Methodist Church and the Gibbon Volunteer Fire Department, along with many other organizations.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dan and Kay (Peterson) Catlin, of Kearney, Mark and Lisa (Catlin) DeBord, of North Platte, and Rusty and Lori (Catlin) Nichols, of Kearney; as well as his grandchildren, Seth Catlin, Brandy Luce, Kristin Nichols, Amber Piller, Nicole Hull and Brittney Stenger; great-grandchildren; brother, Kenny Catlin, of Lincoln; and sister, Linda (Curt) Johnson of Omaha.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rojane Catlin; infant sister, Donna Catlin; brother, Jim Catlin; sister, Lois (Catlin) Benson; and his great-granddaughter, Livia Hull.
