Weakley, age 79, of Kearney, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. today, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. Casual attire is requested.

Jolene was born December 14, 1944, in Grand Island to Ferd and Berneice (Harshfield) Wicht. She was raised near Cairo and received her education from Cairo High School, graduating with the class of 1963.

On June 26, 1966, Jolene was united in marriage to Larry D.

Weakley at the Baptist Church in Cairo. She was a homemaker for most of her life, and most recently worked at the cafeteria at Kearney High School.

Jolene had a passion for baking and cooking. She also enjoyed taking road trips and camping over the years.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tammie Weakley and Michelle Weakley, both of Kearney; sisters, Donna (Ralph) Williams, of Dannebrog, Betty (Gary) Johnson, of Minden, and Patricia (Marty) Stange, of Hastings; as well as many extended family and friends.

Jolene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, DeWayne and Gary Wicht; and her husband, Larry Weakley.
