Larry Fenster Sr.

Larry Fenster Sr., age 78, of Central City, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at NHI in Lincoln.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, February 25, at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Reverend Michelle Reed will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. The family requests you wear casual attire. Memorials may be made in care of the family to designate at a later date. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Larry Dale Fenster Sr., the son of Dale and Thelma (Penner) Fenster, was born in Aurora on April 25, 1943. Larry grew up in Aurora attended Aurora High School, and fought golden gloves. He served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965 at a rank of SR. He was an extremely proud veteran. He was united in marriage to Brooksie Rodgers on August 13, 1964, in Bakersfield, California. Four sons and a daughter were born to this union. He worked as a Millwright in California. Larry worked as a machinist for his cousin, Mike Penner. He also worked as a welder for several years.

Mr. Fenster enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He became a member of River Rats and enjoyed his time on the river with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Larry Jr. (Denise) Fenster, of Holdrege, and their children, Shaun (Ammie), Michael (Kristin), Jennifer (Shane), Heather (Jonathan), Shayla (Steven), Jason, and Sarah (Trent); daughter, Jeanette Frauendorfer (Kelly), of Ankeny, Iowa, and her children, Silvina (Eric) and Melissa (Billy); son, Troy Fenster, of Central City, and his children, Patrick, Christina, Tasha, and Kade; son, Chad Fenster, of Lincoln, and his children, Kylee, Devan and Ayva; son, Danny (Jamie) Fenster and his children, Blake (Courtney), Autum, and Bailey; sister, Jan Opp, of Aurora; sister, Bev (Keith) Collingham, of Aurora; 22 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great-great-grandchild; three nephews, Doug Zehr, Todd Zehr and Brian Collingham; niece, Tina Collingham; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Butch Opp.
