Start of school is also the start of Clipper Country sports coverage
With students returning to classes across Clipper Country, fall sports seasons are never far behind and numerous events are scheduled to begin prior to the Labor Day holiday at Gibbon, Shelton, Wood River Rural, and Centura High Schools.
The Lady Buffalo golf team is the first Gibbon fall sports team to see action this season as they tee off at the Kearney Catholic Invitational on Thursday, August 26, at 9:00 a.m. and will then be at the Doniphan-Trumbull Invitational at Grand Island’s Indianhead Golf Course on Tuesday, August 31, which begins at 2:00 p.m.
