The Wall That Heals passes through Gibbon

The Wall That Heals, the 3/4 traveling replica of the Washington, D.C., Vietnam Memorial Wall containing 58,000-plus names of the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War, stopped briefly in Gibbon on its way to Kearney on Tuesday, August 9. A good number of Gibbon residents turned out to wave American flags as the truck carrying the Wall passed through the community, accompanied by area law enforcement and Patriot Motorcycle Riders, on its way to Patriot Park in Kearney for viewing by the public. Viewing of the Wall began on Thursday, August 11, and continued all day and all night until closing on Sunday, August 14. (–photos by Dennis Walker)
