Annual Easter Sunrise services on Randall’s Hill northwest of Gibbon have been a continuing tradition for area residents since perhaps the late 1940s when Lysle Solomon was the Sunday School teacher at Bethel Church on Lakota Road west of Gibbon.
The annual Gibbon Volunteer Fire Department Banquet was held on Saturday, March 16, at Walker Hall. Among those honored were Steve Rasmussen (left) for his 35 years of service to the department and Mike Slater for his 30 years of service. An estimated 40 district patrons attended a special meeting of the Wood River Board of Education on Thursday, February 29, to hear information on the proposed elementary school playground update.
The Gibbon Board of Education met for its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 12, and heard reports on monthly celebrations, personnel matters and awards over the past month among numerous agenda items presented to the board.
