Gibbon Lady Buff golfers compete at conference meet

“For the Gibbon girls it was actually only the second time playing 18 holes and they battled hard in the north wind,” reported Gibbon head girls golf coach Carolyn Reinertson of the girls’ day at the LouPlatte Conference Meet held at Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island on Friday, September 21.

Ravenna won the meet with a score of 437. “The girls are improving but need to remain patient,” stated coach Reinertson. “Golf is a hard game to master, and it takes time. With this being their first year of playing, they are all understandably nervous playing tournaments. However, each of them handled it better as the day went on and all posted better scores on their last nine holes. In fact, 14 to 17 shots better.”
