Bulldog boys claim runner-up trophy at home track invite

Bolstered by 40 first-place points and supported by 56 second-place points, Shelton claimed the second-place honor in their home Invitational meet Thursday, April 12. Fullerton won the team championship with 153 points, 25 ahead of the Bulldogs. Kenesaw, Central Valley, Elm Creek, Pleasanton, Heartland Lutheran,

Silver Lake, and Elba finished in that order. Remington Wright figured in 30 of those points by medalling in all four of the events he entered. He won the 100 dash by ruling it with a time of 10.99 seconds and ran a leg on the winning 4 X 100 relay, teaming with Sterling Wright, Marcus Lauber, and Daniel Romero. That quartet turned in a time of :47.38. He nabbed the silver in the 200 (:23.45) and placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 18’ 7-1/2”.
