Peggy J. Palmer
Hastings resident Peggy J. Palmer, age 79, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at The Kensington in Hastings. Graveside Services were held Saturday, May 12, at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings with Reverend Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial was in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association. Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home and Cremation Center is serving the family. Peggy was born May 12, 1938, in Winona, Missouri, to Everett O. and Virgie V. (Smith) Moore. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1955. Peggy married William D. “Bill” Palmer on January 9, 1959; he preceded her in death on February 18, 2015. Peggy and Bill were the owners of Thrifty Lube in Fremont. She was a member of First Christian Church in Fremont. Peggy relocated to Hastings in 2015. She grew up in southern Missouri and loved it there. Peggy loved entertaining friends and family in her home and enjoyed her time quilting. She was a wonderful mother. Survivors include her children and spouses, Penny and Jerry Eichman, of Hastings, and Richard and Deanna Palmer, of Shelton; grandchildren and spouses, Jenna and Patrick Breitkreutz, of Ord, Bryan and Hanna Palmer, of Cairo, Anna Palmer, of Shelton, and Sara Palmer, of Shelton; great-grandchildren, Josie Breitkreutz, Ellie Breitkreutz, Maggie Breitkreutz; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William D. “Bill” Palmer; and brother, Wayne “Al” Moore.
