Keith C. “K.C.” Hinkson, age 99, of Cairo, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society, Wood River. Services were held Tuesday, May 15, at Cairo United Methodist Church with the Reverend Cathryn Love officiating. Burial was in Cameron Cemetery, Wood River. Keith Carlyle Hinkson was born March 22, 1919, in Cairo, the son of Preston and Arendse (Dehn) Hinkson. He grew up and received his early education at District 14 going through the eighth grade and graduating from Wood River High School with the class of 1937. Keith began his farming career with his brothers, Hugh and Preston Hinkson and continue his love of the land with his nephews, Arnie and Brian Hinkson. In his spare time Keith loved to travel. He was a member of Cairo United Methodist Church and a member of the Cameron Cemetery Board for 60 years. Those left to cherish his memory include, two nephews, Arnie and Dawn Hinkson of Cairo, and their sons, Cameron and Natalia, of Washington, D.C., Connor, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Devin, of Lincoln, Brian and Lori Hinkson, of Grand Island, and their sons, Justin and Brock and (Mercedes Omps), all of Omaha; other nieces and nephews, Jim and Shelley Larson, of Pensacola, Florida, Steve and Bobbi Larson, of Inkom, Idaho, Susan Larson, of Tucson, Arizona, Roy and Skii McKeag, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Barbara and Glenn Lust, of Abernathy, Texas, Carolyn and Charlie Pilgrim, of Cottonwood, Falls, Kansas, Mike and Melinda Hinkson, of Matfield Green, Kansas, Frank and Marilyn Hinkson, of Emporia, Kansas, Alice and Doyle Hendrickson, of Sedalia, Missouri, Dale Hinkson, of Sedalia, Missouri, and Sally and Al Quick, of Rogerville, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Everett, Dean, Frank, Hugh, and Preston; sisters, Alice and Helen; and two nephews, Leon Hinkson and Gregory McKeag.
