Delores Arlene Petersen
Delores Arlene Petersen, of North Carolina, went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the age of 87. A celebration of her life was held Sunday, July 29, at The Shield, 2499 Firetower Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina. There will be a graveside service at Fredricksburg Cemetery near Minden on Saturday, September 8, at 11:30 a.m. Delores Arlene Petersen was born July 19, 1931, to Edward and Marie (Larsen) Petersen, grew up on a farm south of Minden. She graduated from Minden High School and later received her diploma from West Nebraska School of Nursing in Scottsbluff on August 29, 1954. She devoted her whole life as a nurse, caring for her parents and committed her life to caring for people. Delores was employed by UCC in Scottsdale, Arizona, for many years, moving back to Nebraska in 1985 and working as a nurse for the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island until her retirement in 1995. Delores moved to Gibbon to live with her sister Pearl Mae Sizer. She enjoyed her retirement years with her sister as they both attended Bible studies, garage sales, and shopping. She loved to listen to her niece and three nephews play Gospel music and to spend time with their families. Delores moved to South Carolina where she lived at Carolina Gardens assisted living in York, South Carolina, to be near her three nephews. She recently moved to Complete Care, of Charlotte, North Carolina. Delores is survived by her nephews, Edward (Linda) Sizer, Larry (LeeAnna) Sizer, and Daniel (Margaret) Sizer, of Fort Mill, South Carolina; one niece, Ann Marie (Randy) Vesely, of Lake Andes, South Dakota; and many great-nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ed. M. Petersen and Marie (Larsen) Petersen; brotherin- law, Allen F. Sizer; sister, Pearl Mae Sizer; and one great-nephew, Joshua Sizer.
