Cherie Lewise (Livingston) Wagnitz, age 79, of Kearney, died Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society St. John. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 21, at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home. The Reverend Neil Kloppenborg officiated. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home is serving the family. Condolences may be shared online at Cherie was born November 20, 1938, to George G. and Viola (Lindenstein) Livingston. She graduated from Gibbon High School and then married Lloyd D. Wagnitz on September 30, 1956. Lloyd and Cherie moved to Eustis in 1964 and were members of the United Methodist Church before moving to Kearney in 2006. While living in Eustis, Cherie always had a large garden and canned much of the produce. She also loved flowers and spent time in the yard. She would sew for family and other groups. She cleaned the church and worked at the Eustis Public School. She enjoyed doing crafts, traveling with her husband, being a 4-H leader, an Avon dealer and baking cinnamon rolls and kolaches. Cherie and her husband thoroughly enjoyed sitting down with family, friends, and all visitors (even UPS carriers) sharing a pot of coffee with fresh baked food and known to sit for hours talking and playing board games. Survivors of the immediate family include sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd W. and Susan Wagnitz, of Eagle, and Keith B. Wagnitz, of Gibbon; daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Mike Wolf, of Eustis, and Janell and Larry Welborn, of Omaha. Also surviving are grandchildren, Sara Rohren and husband, Cory, Rachel Burgess and husband, Chase, Matthew Wagnitz and wife Leslie, Cassandra Wolf, Michael Welborn and wife Amanda, Melissa Stoddard and husband Martin, Keith R. Wagnitz and wife Ashley, Kevin Wagnitz and wife Stacia, Brittanie Bunger and husband Jim, Brian Wagnitz, Robert Wagnitz, Annabell Wagnitz, Samaantha Balderston, Cherakey Wagnitz, and Mavrik Wagnitz; great-grandchildren, Katrina Wolf, Emily Robinson, Miles Robinson, Henry Welborn, Ethan Wagnitz, Karson Wagnitz, Grayson Wagnitz, Peyton Wagnitz, Aidan Borgmann, RayLynn Borgmann, Chyanne Hernandez, Kayden Hernandez, Kynzlie Hernandez, Corey Bunger, Marrae Bunger, Ava Wagnitz, Skylar Balderston, Brynn Balderston, Kolton Shaffer, Abby Samulson, and Jaycee Houser. Other survivors are sister-in-law, Joy Livingston; half-brothers-in-law, Gerald Wagnitz and wife Carolina, and Ronald Wagnitz; nieces, Lorna Livingston, Kathy Chamberlain and husband Jerry, and Cortney Larsen and husband Andrew; and nephews, George Jeffrey Livingston, Lath Livingston and wife Sharon, Rick Rask and wife LaRayne, David Rask, Bruce Rask, Dr. Jeremy Wagnitz, and Trevor Wagnitz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd D. Wagnitz; parents, George G. and Viola E. Livingston; father and mothers-in-law, William, Martha and Lena Wagnitz; brother, George W. Livingston; and brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Rosella Rask.
