Linda Kay Mathews Randall

Linda Kay Mathews Randall, age 77, went peacefully with her heavenly family February 19, 2024, at her home in Waco, Texas. Graveside Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon with Reverend Matt Fowler officiating.

Linda was born in Gibbon on March 19, 1947, to Marion Delmer and Lyda (Barrett) Mathews. Linda graduated from Queen Anne School of Beauty in Kearney in 1973.

Linda was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, business owner, and well-loved community member. She worked as a cosmetologist for over 50 years, most of those at her own shop, Hairitage Salon in Kearney where her clients became family and cherished friends to her. Linda was a past member of four quilt guilds, making award winning art and challenge quilts on the state and national levels. She also loved exhibiting her work at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds with her local guild.

Linda was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a past Mrs. Jaycees, Doe’s Women’s Auxiliary, and Weight Watcher’s staff. Linda was very creative and loved making and selling her jewelry, designing special quilts, painting, and making unique keepsakes for those she loved.

Linda is survived by her husband, Chris Randall; two daughters, Laurie Warford (Michael), of Tyler, Texas, and Caralin Warwick, of Burleson, Texas; beloved grandchildren, Stephen Bartels (Erica), of Statesboro, Georgia, Elizabeth Bartels (Devin Damico), of Alma, Arkansas, Meagan O’Callaghan (Shaun Bartels, Brandon O’Callaghan), of Burleson, Texas, and Cami Wilson, of Burleson, Texas; and treasured great-grandchildren, Hayden, Shelby and Ethan Bartels, Jaxx Damico, Finley Bartels, and Avery and Collin O’Callaghan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmer and Lyda Mathews; a husband, Jerome S. Rash, Jr.; and two grandchildren, Sarah Rose Plambeck and Shaun Michael Bartels.
