Beverly Hill Brooks

Beverly Hill Brooks was born November 26, 1931, and passed away May 3, 2024.

It was Beverly’s request to be cremated. A private celebration of her life will be held later. In lieu of flowers. Bev’s request was to contribute in her name to the charity of your choice.

A tribute to our mom from Pam, Debi, and Johnna. “Mom was a graduate of East High School in Denver, Colorado, where she met our dad, Jack.

They were married in 1949 and moved to Shelton in 1958 and began their Nebraska adventure. Mom’s legacy, which we are most proud of began with her determination to help the children of Shelton learn to swim. Bev implemented the swimming program with Red Cross at Shelton’s pool. She not only taught us the love and fun of swimming, she taught swimming to two generations of families. We girls also benefitted from her love of that sport and became lifeguards, teachers, and competitors.

Mom and dad moved back to Denver, Colorado, in 1981.

They decided to give Phoenix, Arizona, a try in 1995 with the goal of improving dad’s failing health. Dad gave it his best shot, yet died in 1997.

Mom continued to enjoy living in Peoria, Arizona, playing golf with her many friends and celebrating every Christmas with exuberance and always making it special for us, our husbands, and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mom and dad were avid Husker fans and generously supported the Husker football program and had season tickets until 2020. They loved dancing to the many big bands that played at the Elks and Liederkranz clubs in Grand Island.

Bev was a lifetime member of PEO and DAR.

A quote from A.A. Milne, ‘If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart: I’ll stay there forever.’”
