Audrey Applegate

Audrey Applegate, age 85, of Kearney, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at St.

Luke’s Good Samaritan Home in Kearney. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 16, at the Gibbon Baptist Church with Pastor Taylor Shippy officiating. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon.

Audrey was born July 27, 1938, in Gibbon, to Oren and Veda (DeBrie) Applegate. She was raised in Gibbon and received her education from Gibbon High School. Audrey later moved to Kearney where she held various cleaning jobs, most recently with Holiday Inn. She was a longtime member of Gibbon Baptist Church.

Audrey loved visits from her family. She had a passion for all animals, especially horses and her dog, Max. She enjoyed playing games and other activities at St. Lukes.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Rich (Susan) Robinson, of Lincoln; and several extended family.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Clayton Robinson; and aunt, Bonnie Applegate.
