The Wood River Sunbeam has
been in existence for over 110 years.
The Sunbeam covers the communities
and rural area surrounding Wood River and Alda. We report on
activities around the towns including city council, social, church and
ag related news. Our coverage of the schools include monthly school
board meetings and all the activities of the elementary and secondary
students, in the classroom and the playing field. Our motto of łOur
Town, Our People˛ shows in each weekly issue with pictures and stories
of local people and activities. The news and advertising deadline is
5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Steve Glenn is the current
owner/publisher, taking over ownership in 2005.
A subscription to the Wood River
Sunbeam is $26.00 annually for subscribers living in Hall, Adams,
Buffalo, and Kearney counties. For all other subscribers, the annual
cost is $33.00.
