Gibbon City Council hears new pool completion report at Monday meeting

A report on progress of the new swimming pool highlighted a short monthly meeting of the Gibbon City Council on Monday, April 21.
Larry Steele, of Miller and Associates, reported to the council that members on the pool's progress and gave anew completion date for the project. Read more on this story in this week's Gibbon Reporter.

Shelton Annual Fireworks Show Still Accepting Donations

The 2013 Shelton Fireworks Show proved be another “Small Town Spectacular” that rivals any big town blowout! The fireworks show was viewed by spectators from surrounding communities from near and far. Donations are still being accepted at area businesses as well as at the banks in Shelton, Gibbon, and Wood River. Donations can be mailed to: “Shelton Fireworks Fund” at PO Box 639, Shelton NE 68876. A “standard” contribution is $25, but any amount is appreciated. Thanks to all for contributing and making this a long standing tradition. Each year is a new year that creates a memory of a lifetime for our youth. Once this year’s goal is met, the remainder of the funds will go toward the 2014 show.

 

Shelton Bulldogs Sports Capsule

The Bulldog girls and boys track teams hosted the Shelton Invitational on Thursday, April 17. See how the Bulldogs fared in the April 24 issue of the Shelton Clipper! The teams participate in the Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, April 24, at 1:00 p.m.

The Shelton boys golf team competed at the Red Cloud Invitational on Wednesday, April 16,and will be at the Gibbon Invitational at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, weather permitting. Keep up with the Bulldogs in this week's Shelton Clipper!

 

Wood River Eagles Sports Capsule

The Eagle boys and girls track teams competed at the Ravenna Invitational on Thursday, April 17. See results in this week's Wood River Sunbeam. The Eagles will be attending the Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, April 24, beginning at 1:00 p.m., weather permitting.

The Wood River boys golf team will tee off at the Gibbon Invitational at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, before competing at the Kearney Catholic Invitational on Tuesday, April 29, at 9:00 a.m.

Gibbon Buffaloes Sports Capsule

The Gibbon boys and girls track teams will host the Ron Priebe-Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, April 24, at 1:00 p.m. and will then send athletes to the Central Nebraska Track Meet at Grand Island on Monday, April 28, at 4:00 p.m.

The Gibbon boys golf team will at the Loup City Invitational on Tuesday, April 22, at 1:00 p.m. and will host the Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, April 24, at 1:00 p.m.
